Ed Troy, 54, of Huntsville passed away at the home of his brother on April 3, 2013. Ed was a 1976 graduate of Grissom High School and a graduate of the University of Alabama Huntsville with B. S. degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science. Ed was the Head of Software Engineering and one of the founders of Troy 7, Inc. an Aerospace Engineering company where he worked since 2008. Ed was born in Albuquerque, NM on October 30, 1958 and moved with his family to Honduras, Virginia, Italy, and Saudi Arabia, before settling in Huntsville in 1975.

Ed was preceded in death by his father, Daniel J. Troy, and his mother Shirley A. Troy. Ed has two surviving brothers and a sister-in-law Jim Troy, and John and Lynn Troy, all of Huntsville. He has a nephew, Daniel Troy, currently in Misawa, Japan.

Ed was a brilliant, generous, kind, and gentle man who was always willing to help anyone with anything.

Ed will be greatly missed by his friends, co-workers, and family. He took care of so many of us in so many ways, and he never asked for or expected anything in return.

We are all better people for having known him.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with a memorial service following in the Chapel at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers the family recommends donations to the Humane Society of Huntsville.
