Mrs. Earline King was born Oct. 31, 1925, in Colbert County, Alabama to the late Alec Bates and Henrietta Bailey. She departed her life on Nov. 12, 2017, at ECM.

Earline dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized and united with Cave Springs M.B. Church. She later united with Mt. Olievia M.B. Church.

Earline strived to put God first while she unconditionally loved her family and church family through her actions. She served as president of the Senior Choir, Young Matron Advisor, and member of Missionary Society. She was a very faithful, dedicated deaconette. Muscle Shoals city schools employed her.

Earline was united in holy matrimony on Feb. 9, 1944, to Emmitt King Sr. who preceded her in death. Others that preceded her in death were a daughter, Barbara J. King; three brothers; and three sisters.

She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories two daughters, Vonda (James) Whiteside and Shirley Parks; two sons, Emmett (Carrie) King Jr. and Eddie King; an adopted daughter, Shanta King; brother-in-law, David (Mary) King; two sisters-in-law, Francis (Fred) Darthard and Edna King; a devoted granddaughter and nurse, Jerita Jackson; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; two special nieces, Letha Ann Thompson and Mary King; a devoted cousin, Arneitha Thompson; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
