Earlene Powers – Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Earlene Powers, age 81, are scheduled for 3 PM, Sunday, January 22, 2017 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Center Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Powers passed away Thursday at her home in Lexington. She was born March 14, 1935 in Henderson County to the late George Martin and Marie Bowman Cagle. She was a supervisor at Brown Shoe for 37 years and also worked in the deli at Food Giant. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church and was a dedicated wife who enjoyed being around her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Wylie Hamilton Powers; her son, Ricky Hamilton Powers; two brothers, Odell Cagle and Willie Bowman; two sisters, Della Mae Powers and Pauline Wood; and two grandchildren, Gary Hamilton Powers and Brittney Nicole Powers. Survivors include two daughters, Marsha Scott and Martha Jean Miller (Tommy); her daughter-in-law, Aline Powers; six grandchildren, Patrick Powers, Robert Burcham (Tiffany), Angie Holmes (Brian); Melissa Barker (Brian), Robby Powers, and Bobby Powers; twenty great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
