Earl Preston Earnest, 75, resident of Selmer, TN, passed away peacefully, November 17, 2022 at the Tippah County Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Mr. Earnest was born January 18, 1947, in Brownsville, TN to the late Henry and Mirtle Waldrop Earnest. He received his education in the Walnut Public School System and was a valued employee with Henderson Pest Control for 35 years before his retirement.
A Christian and member of Faith Fellowship, Mr. Earnest will be remembered for his love of collecting die cast cars, traveling, riding and tinkering with his motorcycles, going out to eat, and trips to flea markets. Mr. Earnest was a jokester who had a fun personality and never met a stranger. He took much pride in his family, but his greatest accomplishment was being “Papaw” to his much-adored grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memories include his beloved wife of 39 years, Louise Leopard Earnest, two sons, Dale Dodd(Tammy) and Mike Dodd both of Selmer, TN, two sisters, Margaret Roberson(Mickey) of Ashland and Linda Abby(Terry) of Walnut, four grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded in death by one sister, Brenda Spears, and two brothers.
