Earl Edwin ChampionEarl Edwin Champion, age 89 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. A native of Franklin County, he was born on April 9, 1931 to the late Robert Wilson and Evie (Crossland) Champion. Before his retirement, he was the owner and operator of Champ Septic Tank. In his spare time, Earl enjoyed raising a vegetable garden. Earl was a devoted member of Winchester Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters. Earl is survived by his loving wife, Frances Garrett Champion of Winchester; children, Don (Peggy) Champion of Huntsville, Hal (Janice) Champion of Woodbury, Mike (Marilyn) Champion of Winchester; and Bruce (Melanie) Champion of Winchester; grandchildren, Amy (Wes) Bryan, Dagny (Jimmy) Scott, Lance (Amber) Champion, Jason (Rose) Champion, Brandon Champion, Steven (Jessie) Champion, Mark (Casey) Champion, and Logon (Amber) Champion; step-granddaughter, Bethany Stovall; fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Bobbie Boswell of Alabama, and Mae (Harry K.) Boswell of Winchester; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Monday, August 3, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Joseph Horton officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
