Notice for Earl D Phillips

Earl Dwyte Phillips, 88, passed away at his residence in Baldwyn. He was born June 24, 1937, in Austin, TX, to Earl Carlton and Grace Sanders Phillips. He was raised in the Carolina Community in Itawamba County by his stepmother, Carrie Phillips. He was a veteran, serving in the United States Army. He was a diesel mechanic for many years, first working at Transport Trailer Services. After retirement, he went to work at Waddle Logging as their diesel mechanic. He loved cooking and making jelly, which he loved to give away. He was an avid fisherman.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17, at the Priceville Baptist Church (713 N Feemster Lake Rd, Tupelo). McNeece-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include one son, Earl D. Phillips, Jr. of Ripley; two daughters, Denise Carter (Chris) of Saltillo and Celeste Phillips (John Laird) of Baldwyn; two grandchildren, Tucker Carter (Brooke) and Reilly Grace Carter Reeves (Nick); one great grandson, Arthur Caleb; one brother and one sister.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dean Phillips; two brothers; and his parents.
