Eardie Ray Pitts, age 84, of Florence, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 17th from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Brother Larry Burbank officiating. Burial will be at Wright Cemetery. Pallbearers are Calvin Burch, Larry Clemmons, Wayne Pitts, Billy Pitts, Adam Allison, and Johnny Tank.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orbie and Omie Pitts; wife, Vera Mae Pitts; daughter, Vivian Minton; brothers, Eddie, Teddy, Gary and Wendell Pitts; sister, Reba Taylor.
Survivors are his daughter, Carolyn Pitts; brothers, Ronnie Pitts (Mary Faye) and Joe Pitts (Callie); sisters, Claudean Nunn and Judy Wright. 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Eardie was a member of Valleyview House of Prayer, a U.S. Marine Veteran, and was retired with Imperior Casting. A special thanks to caregivers Lana Woods, Juanita Holland, and Paula Reed for their love and care.
