Funeral services for Mr. E.W. (Buddy) Jarnigin, age 86, will be held at 2PM on Monday, August 4, 2025 in the Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mark Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Mayfield Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 PM until 8 PM and Monday from 11 AM until service time.
Mr. Jarnigin, a retired employee of the Gibson County Utility District and member of Spring Hill Baptist Church, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025 in the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Jim Jarnigin and Mrs. Grace Jones Jarnigin; sisters, Majorie (Tootsie) Porter and Demetria (Sissy) Dedmon; and brothers, Herman Jarnigin, J.W. (Gub) Jarnigin, Ronnie Jarnigin and Lloyd (Pete) Jarnigin.
Mr. Jarnigin is survived by his wife, Janie Boucher Jarnigin; a daughter, Lisa Jarnigin Martinez and husband Orlando Martinez; a son, Jeff Jarnigin; a granddaughter Magdalena “Maggie” Martinez and husband Lukas Saul; and a great grandson, Finn Harrison Alley.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to: Spring Hill Baptist Church or Mayfield Cemetery Association.
