Dwight H. Rhodes age 79, passed away September 24, 2026, at his home.
He was born on November 4, 1946, in Jackson, TN, the son of the late Clifton and Ruth Jones Rhodes. He grew up in Henderson and was a 1964 graduate of Chester County High School.
He married his high school sweetheart Dale Whitwell in 1965, and they made their home in Henderson. Dale preceded him in death on July 8, 2023.
Dwight was a gunsmith for many years before going to work for Quality Metal Stamping in Henderson in 1988, where he worked as a Tool and Die Specialist and later production engineer, retiring in 2012.
He was a member of the Cave Springs Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and a member of the Cemetery Committee.
Mr. Rhodes is survived by son, Anthony Rhodes (Kim) of Henderson; two daughters, Linda Geary (Danny) and Annette Rhodes all of Henderson; six grandchildren, Eryn Tolley (Brandon), Lauren Geary, Nathan Geary (Payton), Andrew Geary, Miriam Rhodes and Tirzah Rhodes; two great grandchildren, Ben Tolley and Carter Tolley; two brothers, Dennis Rhodes (Anita) of Henderson and Wayne Rhodes (Nelda) of Luray,
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dale Rhodes (2023) and a brother Miles Rhodes.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 26th at Cave Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Ronnie Geary and Danny Geary officiating. Burial will follow at Cave Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday and 9:00 AM -10:30 AM Saturday before going to the church.
