Dwight DeWayne Jackson, age 76, of Russellville, Alabama, passed away on July 30, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 7, 1950, to Arie Belton Jackson and Ruby Mattie Lou Madden Jackson. Dwight was a man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, and one of his greatest passions was riding his motorcycle, especially alongside his beloved son, Jamie, who was his greatest pride and joy. A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Russellville, Dwight lived a life centered on kindness, friendship, and compassion. He had a deep love for music and enjoyed sharing good times with family and friends. Whether lending a helping hand to someone in need or simply enjoying the company of those he loved, Dwight’s caring heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. His warm spirit, generous nature, and genuine love for others will be remembered and cherished by all whose lives he touched. Visitation will be held Monday, August 3, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Akins Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Dwight is survived by his son, Jamie Jeremiah Jackson; brothers, Bobby Gene (Bulah) Jackson and Donnie Joe Jackson; sisters, Betty Ruth (Steve) McKinney and Wanda Dianne Jackson; nephews, Namath (Wanda) Jackson, Brad McKinney, Steven (Brandi) Morrow, and Dillion Morrow; nieces, Lisa Jackson, Sowko, Carrie McKinney, Christy (Zac) Henson, Donice (Tommy) Wood, and Holly Jackson; the mother of his son, Brenda Bragwell Jackson; Several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arie Belton Jackson and Ruby Mattie Lou Madden Jackson; his brother, Wade Douglas Jackson; his sister-in-law, Janice Cook Jackson; and his brother-in-law, Stevie Ray Morrow.
