Dwayne Ray Smith, age 56 of Lynchburg, passed away December 10, 2020 at his residence. He was born on June 29, 1964 in Fayetteville and was a member of Hickory Hill Baptist Church. Dwayne had been employed at Delong Sportswear for about six years and enjoyed fishing and cars, which he loved buying and driving. He will be remembered as a kind, compassionate person who loved being around people. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Ray Smith; grandparents, Cecil and Elmer Branch; Douglas and Willie Mae Smith. He is survived by his mother, Marie Branch Smith; brother, Darrell Smith; and sister, Anita (Kenneth) Golden, all of Lynchburg; nephews, Bradly Golden and Trevor Smith; nieces, Mandie Harris and Krysten Beaty; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be 11 am-1 pm Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Jennings Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm in Jennings Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro.
