Dwayne Edward Neal Profile PhotoDwayne Edward Neal, age 57, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. In his final moments, he was exactly where he belonged—with his four daughters, his life partner, and many of the family and friends whose lives he had touched. While his family will forever wish for one more day, they find comfort knowing he was never alone.

Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, Dwayne spent most of his life in Murfreesboro, where he built a life centered around hard work, family, and making memories. He worked as a supervisor for Southern Creations and took pride in providing for those he loved.

Dwayne never met a golf course, fishing hole, or hunting spot he didn’t enjoy. If he wasn’t spending time outdoors, he was probably talking about the last time he did. He loved the friendly competition of a round of golf, casting a line in the water, and any excuse to be outside. But of all the titles he held, “Papa” was the one he cherished most. His grandchildren brought him endless joy, and some of his happiest moments were simply spent being their Papa.

Anyone who knew Dwayne knew he always had something to say. Ironically, he loved to tease everyone else about talking too much—even though he could turn a five-minute conversation into an hour without breaking a sweat. His stories, quick wit, playful trash talk, and unmistakable sense of humor will be missed as much as his generous heart.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his father, Willie Harrell Neal, Sr. and his longtime employer/ friend, Butch Hamby.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his life partner, Sandy Allen; his daughters, Jennifer Allen, Krystal Rust and husband Matthew, Keisha Neal, and Courtney Neal; his beloved grandchildren, Elliott Sanders, Chloe Rust, and Madison Rust; his mother, Sue Hall; his siblings, Tammy Windrow and Junior Neal; along with many extended family members, dear friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know and love him.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 8, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 9, at 1:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Pallbearers will be Matthew Rust, James Graham, Wayne Davis, Brandon Parker, Josh Tyler, Bruce Campbell, Archie Anderson, and Donnie McDugald. Interment will follow at Carlton Cemetery.

Though his voice has grown quiet, the stories, laughter, love, and memories he leaves behind will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew him. His family will carry him with them always. May all your birdies be in his honor
