Funeral service for Dwain Donald “Red” Wallace age 90 of Hartselle will be Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 1:00pm at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Greg Keenum officiating with burial in the Mt. Zion Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 11:00am until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
Dwain was born on February 23, 1936, in Morgan County to Dennis and Vina Johnson Wallace. He died on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Summerford Nursing Home. He married Wanda McCaghren in 1956, and they raised two sons, Tony and Terry, in Hartselle, after a divorce, he met and married June Ward.
As a lifelong resident of Morgan County, Dwain was active in the Morgan County Cattleman’s Association, Hartselle Lions Club, coached numerous little league baseball teams and was well known in the Hartselle area. He was a member of the Enon Baptist Church in Danville for 70 years, where he served as a Deacon and Music Director for many of those years. He loved to play music and cattle farm. Dwain worked at Monsanto for over 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Wanda Wallace West, and his wife; June Ward Wallace and by a granddaughter, Tonya Barnett.
