DEKALB COUNTY-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer has taken the life of one person:
“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, has claimed the life of a Dutton man.
Reggie E. Dempsey, 49, was fatally injured when the 2014 Ford F-250 that he was driving struck the 2025 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by Edward R. Blankenship, 61, of Bessemer. Dempsey was not using a seat belt at the time of crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Alabama 75 near Heaton Road, approximately two miles north of Fyffe, in Dekalb County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
