Mr. Dutroe Larry Burnett, age 76 of Mercer, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday afternoon at Maplewood Health Care Center in Jackson, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2019, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar. Visitation will begin Sunday at 1:00 p.m. and burial will follow the service at Vernon Cemetery in Cloverport, TN.
Duetroe Larry Burnett was born on Sunday, November 1, 1942, in Hardeman County, TN. He worked in Pest Control for 30 years for Homestead Pest Control. A graduate of Bolivar Central High Class of 1960, he was a writer, a singer for the Maple Springs Quartet, and he had a great sense of humor. He lived most of his life in the Madison-Hardeman County area, but moved to Uptonville around 1976.
Mr. Burnett is survived by his daughter, Vickie Burnett of Memphis, TN; his son, Dwayne Burnett of Mercer, TN; a sister, Brenda Kennon of Toone, TN; two grandchildren, Bethany Burnett and Jakob Burnett; two great-grandchildren, Griffin Kelly and Arabella Burnett; and a nephew, Michael Morgan.
