Dustin McCay – Obituary

The funeral service for Dustin McCay, age 29 of Lineville, will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Prospect Baptist Church with Rev. Brandon Owens officiating. Burial followed in the Christiana Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. McCay passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019 in Rome, Georgia. A life-long resident of Lineville, he was a graduate of Lineville High School – Class of 2008 where he was a member of the varsity baseball team. Dustin worked along side his father George on the family poultry farm. He loved being outdoors – camping, fishing and being a part of nature. Dustin was a member of Mount Prospect Baptist Church; he loved the Lord and enjoyed reading the Bible. Above all else, he loved his daughter, his family and his friends and will be remembered as a big-hearted, generous soul.

Dustin is survived by his father, George McCay (Beth) of Lineville; his mother, Phyllis Harris (Hal) of Delta; one daughter, Kinsley Shay McCay of Ashland; one sister, Genna McCay of Delta; one brother, John Ross McCay of Delta; three step-brothers: Dexter Graben of Ragland, Cory Harris of Birmingham and Trey Harris of Tennessee; two nephews: Evan McCay and R. J. McCay; two nieces: Heidi McCay and Oaklee Graben; his paternal grandfather, Earl McCay (Dolly) of Ashland; his maternal grandparents: James Ford of Lineville and Debra Taylor of Talladega plus a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Wylene McCay.

Michael Ford, Wayne Ford, Tank New, Kevin Strickland, Kevin Adams, Mark Waters, Justice Cabeza and Kyle Ford will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m.
