Dula Mae Jones Yancey, age 87, of Scottsboro, AL, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025.
Dula was born on April 3, 1937, to the late Thomas Warren Jones and Wilma Erlene Jones in the High Point Community. She attended Albertville High School. Dula loved to travel, and her favorite place was the beach, where she enjoyed spending time with her cousin Carolyn and her friend Judy.
She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Gilbert Reed, and her twin sister, Tula Fae Jones. She is survived by her daughters, Cassandra (James) Munday and Phyllis Crabtree; her sisters, Genell (John) Kermondy and Loree (Dale) Landers; her sisters-in-law, Mary Sue Yancey, Evelyn Yancey, and Janice (James Riley) Barclift; her grandchildren, Deanna (Jesse) Winiarz, James William (Kelsey) Munday, Justin (Shannon) Munday, and Jay Munday; and her great-grandchildren, Cailin Munday, Ryan Higdon, Gunnar Higdon, Lahlan Winiarz, Adian Munday, and Eleanor Munday. She is also survived by a wonderful family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at Adams Brown Funeral Home in Albertville. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Adams Brown Funeral Home. Interment will follow at High Point Baptist Church Cemetery in Marshall County.
