TENNESSEE VALLEY-The Tennessee Valley is under a winter weather advisory with several inches of snow expected late Thursday Night and well into Friday. Due to the possibility of winter weather hazards several area schools will close:

Albertville City Schools – Closed Thursday and Friday

Athens State University – Closed Friday

Boaz City Schools – Closed  Friday

Calhoun Community College – Virtual Learning Friday the 10th

Cornerstone Christian Academy school and preschool – Closed  Friday

Cullman County Schools – Closed Friday

Decatur City Schools – Closed Friday

DeKalb County Schools – Closed Friday

Etowah County Schools – Closed Friday

Fayetteville City Schools – Closed Friday

Fort Payne City Schools – Closed Friday

Hartselle City Schools – Closed Friday

Huntsville College Preparatory School – Closed Friday  All afterschool activities have been canceled for Thursday, Jan. 9.

Jackson County Schools – Closed Friday

Lauderdale County Schools – Closed Friday

Lawrence County Schools – Closed Friday

Lincoln County Schools, TN – Closed Friday

Marshall County Schools – Closed Friday

Morgan County Schools – Closed Friday

Redstone Arsenal will close several gates on Friday

Riverside Christian Academy – Closed  Friday The school said that middle school homecoming which had been planned for Monday, Jan. 13, has been postponed to Thursday, Jan. 23

Scottsboro City Schools – Closed Friday

Snead State Community College – Closed Friday
