DECATUR-Investigators with the Decatur Police Department have had a suspect under investigation since April of 2014. A search warrant was executed on Wednesday, February 4th and an arrest was made on one suspect. Here is how the Decatur Police Department describe the events:
“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
During January through April 2014 Investigators with the Decatur Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit reviewed complaints concerning alleged drug activity that was connected to a black male identified as Antonio Marques Swopes. An investigation ensued during the next several months.
Swopes sold quantities of crack cocaine throughout the City Limits of Decatur on several occasions. On February 4, 2015, Officers with the Special Operations Division executed a search warrant at Swopes’s residence at 1512 Douthit St SW in Decatur. Swopes was located inside the residence and was found to be in possession of a quantity of marihuana and drug paraphernalia.
Swopes was arrested for three counts of Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marihuana 2nd Degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Swopes was transported to the Decatur City Jail. He will later be transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a 16,000.00 aggregate bond.”
