Drucilla G. Nichols – Obituary

Drucilla G. Nichols, 89, departed this life on March 16, 2015 at home. She was born in Morgan County on October 28, 1925 to Blash and Gathie Cobbs Ozbolt. She graduated from Eva High School in 1944. She worked at Alabama Hosiery Mills in Decatur for ten years. Drucilla met and married James E. Nichols in 1956. They were later blessed with two sons. She retired from Porter/Oneita Mills in 1996. She attended Gum Pond Primitive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Tony Nichols; one sister, Imelda Mann and her husband, George; one brother, Edward Ozbolt; two brothers-in-law, Daniel Crow and Noble Caudle; and a step-daughter, Lynda Smith and her husband, Maynard.
She is survived by one son, Ricky Nichols and his wife, Vanessa; daughter-in-law, Belinda Fulmer Nichols; three grandchildren, Alaina Nichols, Rebekah Zimmerman and her husband, Craig, and Jacob Nichols; three great-grandchildren, Michael, Conor and Zoe Zimmerman; three sisters, Winnell Crow, Ermaline Caudle and Annie Childers; and her husband S.D.; one brother, Joe Ozbolt and his wife, Joan; sister-in-law, Bonnie Ozbolt; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at Gum Pond Primitive Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
