Dru Anna Jackson, EdD, 46, of Hampton passed away in Los Angeles, California, on 12 January 2026, while visiting close friends. Dru was born in Athens, Alabama, daughter to William Andrew Jackson (Shane Jackson) and Connie Fay Frank (Tony Frank). Dru functioned as a program manager for GE Aerospace, Army Futures Command, and other various Department of Defense entities even deploying in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 2010-2011. She enjoyed traveling to places she had never been and spending time with her closest family and friends. Dru was predeceased by her grandparents Barbara Siniard Wallace, Thomas David Wallace, Margie Knox, and Bud Knox, Walton and Mamie Lou Jackson. Along with her parents, Dru was survived by her loving husband, Michael David Jackson; her sister Andrea Turner (Derrick Turner); Brittany (Jeffrey) Dunn and Meaghan Dow (Brendan Dow); Carrissa Maples (Justin Maples); Melissa Frank; and her niece she viewed as a daughter, Bri Anna Harris (Turner); and two brothers Rodney Jackson (Tammy Jackson); Ric Solis and her two stepsons Orion Michael Jackson and Jakob Robert Jackson (Julia Jackson) 1 grandchild; and all of her nieces and nephews that she loved with all of her heart: Annie Russell, Meg Stone, Mara Solis, Reagan Jackson, Garrett Dunn, Riggs Dunn, Mary Caroline Dow, Eloise Dow, Jack Dow, and James Dow .
Viewing/Visitation will take place on Friday, January 30th, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. at the Spry Funeral Homes Inc. Chapel, 804 US HWY 72 West, Athens, AL 35611. A funeral in celebration of Dru’s life will be held on Saturday, January 31st, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at the Spry Funeral Homes Inc. Chapel, 804 US HWY 72 West, Athens, AL 35611 to the Pettusville Church Cemetery, Elkmont, AL 35620.
