 Doyle Lee Hopkins, 78, died Tuesday, November 7, 2023 peacefully at his residence. He was born in Dennis, MS to Orien and Louise Twitty Hopkins. He was a lifelong member of Highland Baptist Church and proudly served as an ordained deacon since April 6, 1975. He served three terms as an Alderman for the Town of Tishomingo. In 2022, he was elected by his peers in the Town of Tishomingo as Citizen of the Year and was beyond grateful for the opportunity. He was most happy when he was going out to eat and shopping with his wife, Audrey, woodworking in his shop, gardening and cooking his loved ones favorites. He loved spending time with his family and he did it with a grateful and fully loving heart.

Services will be Friday, November 10, 2 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Daily and Bro. Don Graham officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Audrey Hopkins; two daughters, Lisa Wooten (Scotty) and Kim Daily (Mark); grandchildren, LeAnna Wilson (Danny), Britney Waldrep (Justin), Cory Wooten (Tiffany), Jon-Mark Daily (Callie), Brad Wooten and Madison Daily; great-grandchildren, Lily, Lakyn and Jackson Wilson, Kelsey Waldrep, Malia Mobley, Ella Beth Wooten and soon to be born, Collins Daily; siblings, A.C. Hopkins (Janice), Gerald Hopkins (Peggy), Annette Wooten (Charles) and Elsie Jean Simmons and sister-in-law, Jane Rutherford.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Waldrep and his parents.

Pallbearers will be Cory Wooten, Jon-Mark Daily, Brad Wooten, Scotty Wooten, Donnie Rutherford and Bill McDonald. Honorary pallbearers will be Jackson Wilson, Tim Rutherford and Phillip Blunt.

Visitation will be Friday, November 10, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church.
