Doyle Dayton Byram, 90, formerly of the Memphis, TN area passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Carrington House, Iuka, MS. He was born March 11, 1927 in Dallas, TX to the late Charles and Mable Wetzel Byram. He had been retired from the Department of the Navy since 1987, where he worked as a mechanical engineer which allowed him his dream of living in Alaska. He was a lifelong member of Hickory Hills Baptist Church.
Services will be Saturday, February 17, 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with Bro. Ralph Culp officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery, Dennis, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are one son – Barney Paul Byram, Southaven, MS.; five grandchildren – Jana Carolyn Sims Everett and Julie Anna Sims, both of Starkville, MS, Jerad Alan Sims, Booneville, MS, Paul Wesley Byram, Southaven, MS and Mary Elizabeth Byram White, Clarksville, TN; five great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of forty-eight years, Mary Sue McDougal Byram, his wife of seventeen years, Dorothy Lee Byram, his daughter, Janice Carolyn Sims and his brother, Charles Owen Byram.
His nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 17, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS.
