_MG_4078 copySHEFFIELD– Another proud day for Sheffield and the Shoals Chamber this time it was a two for the price of one.  What do you say  is two for the price of one?  Ribbon Cuttings and Grand Openings.  Zoey Belle’s located at 300 North Montgomery and Sheffield Hardware located at 307 North Montgomery… an all in the family affair!  The crowd was large, the sun was shining and Laquita and Rodney Logan along with Grant Copeland could not have been more proud.

Here is what Zoey Belle’s and Sheffield Hardware have to say :

“Zoey Belles is the culmination of many dreams I have
had since I graduated from UNA in 1984 with a
degree in commercial art. My husband and I were
disillusioned with the direction the healthcare industry
was headed, so we decided to try something
different.
Zoey Belle’s started out as a small ladies boutique but
soon blew into a full-fledged department store. After
securing the property from the City of Sheffield, and
spending some nine months with Create Architects,
we broke ground in April, 2013.

We have a fashionable ladies department
as well as a men’s department upstairs.
Plans are to have local artists teach
classes in the building on the second floor,
ranging from beginners to advanced
classes. The City of Sheffield has been
wonderful to work with and are very
supportive of what we are trying to do to
improve downtown Sheffield and give
people an excuse to shop in their own city.
Sheffield Hardware came into being almost
by accident. While working on the Zoey
Belle’s project, David Johnson suggested
that an old building might be available on
the opposite side of the street, so we
decided to purchase the building now known
as Sheffield Hardware.

After much discussion, we thought a full
service hardware store could be successful in
downtown Sheffield — reviving the building
that was originally a hardware store in
1896. Despite being told by a major hardware
supplier that the location was a poor choice,
we proceeded with the idea of a locallyowned,
personal-service hardware store. My
son, Grant, headed up the renovation project
and will be the proprietor of the new
store. We are excited to bring this business to
Sheffield and hope it is just the start of something special in this city.”

The Quad Cities Daily was on hand to capture the moment in photos and we present them to you here:
