Douglas Ray Pate, age 66, of Florence, Al., passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Visitation will be Friday, March 13, 2015 from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow at 12:00 PM in the Colbert Memorial Chapel.
He was a member of East Colbert Church of Christ. Doug was a veteran of United States Army where he served during Viet-Nam where he was rewarded the Purple Heart, A veteran of Desert Storm, member of VA, VFW, Combat Infantrymans Association, during the time he completed a Senior Non-Commission Course, and was always involved in all support of veterans and their organizations, any and all. He retired from Florence AL. Post Office as a carrier after 32 + years of loyal service.
Douglas was preceded in death by parents Doc and June Pate.
He is survived by wife of 42 wonderful years Pat Aday Pate, sisters; Shirley Pate Green (Ronnie), and Nancy McGee (Ronnie), Host of loving nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Doug requested that donations be made to The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at 105 Westpark Drive #415 Brentwood, TN 37027.
