Douglas Ray Adams, Jr. Douglas Ray Adams, Jr, 81, Insurance Agent for State Farm and resident of Columbia, died Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:30 P.M. at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Joe Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5:00 P.M. -7:00 P.M. and Saturday from 1:30 P.M. until service time at the church. Born November 1, 1938 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Douglas Ray Adams, Sr. and the late Juanita Gray Adams. He was a 1956 graduate of Spring Hill High School and served in the United States Airforce right after graduation. After being discharged from the Airforce, Mr. Adams began his working career with Middle Tennessee Bank and then State Farm Insurance. He was a member of the Lions Club in Spring Hill and started the Local Junior Achievement Organization in Columbia. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and attended Godwin Chappell United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, whom he married December 2, 1980, Amy Jane Adams of Columbia; daughters, Susie (Mark) Curry of Duck River; Amie Roscoe of Brentwood; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Michael) Cox of Columbia; Justin (Crystal) Curry of Columbia; Brian (Shea) Adams of Summertown; Christina Roscoe of Austin, Texas; Anna Jane Roscoe of Dallas, Texas; great grandchildren, Jackson Curry, Ryleigh Curry, Alice Christine Cox, Bennett Cox, Liam Cox, Sidda Adams, Bear Adams; sisters, Paula (Ronnie) Richardson; Terri Sue Harmon; cousin, Edward Lewis Adams; several nieces, nephews, special cousins; and sister-in-law, Linda Colley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Adams; brother, Terry Adams; and Kaye Adams Clark.

Active pallbearers will be Brian Adams, Justin Curry, Michael Cox, Joshua Gilliam, Michael Gilliam, Kelly Bratton, Jason Sloan, Joe Sloan, Doug Swope, and Willard Murphy. Honorary pallbearers include April Owens, Jackie Howe, State Farm Agents and Employees, members of Godwin Chappell United Methodist Church, and Spring Hill High School Class of 1956.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Amit Choksi, Dr. Ben High, and Dr. Varun Dhulipala.
