Memorial service for Douglas Newton Morris, age 78, of Decatur, will be Friday, April 29, 2016, 4:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service.
Mr. Morris, who died Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born September 27, 1937, in Greenville, TX, to Willie Dee Morris and Beulah Lee Causey Morris.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Martha Sue Harris Morris of Decatur; four children, Stephanie Williams of Decatur, Meredith Barreth (Ben) of Overland Park, KS, Preston Morris of Beaumont, TX, and William Shackelford of Danville, AL; two sisters, Betty Little (John) of Greenville, TX, and Julia Warren of Cheyenne, WY; and five grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Decatur Baptist Church Missions Fund, or Hospice of the Valley.
