Dorthey June Compton, 67, of Iuka, MS, died Saturday, October 22, 2016, at her daughter’s residence in Pontotoc. Mrs. Compton was an active member of Iuka Apostolic Church where she served as Sunday school teacher and organist. She was retired from the Mississippi Forestry Commission where she worked as a secretary for over thirty years. Dorthey enjoyed sewing, traveling, and flowers. She was also interested in computers and technology. Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 24, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Kenneth White and Bro. Charles Wright. Interment will follow in Carpenter Cemetery. Pallbearers include Josh Sloan, Brad White, Jody Riddle, Richie Jones, Ben Riddle, and Justin Powell. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. She is survived by a daughter, Valerie Crawford of Pontotoc; a sister, Nancy Howell of Hamilton, AL; and three grandchildren, Brett Compton, Riley Compton, and Haylee Compton, all of Iuka. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Compton; and a son, Eric Compton.
