Mrs. Dortha “Dot” Mae Ellenburg, age 88, of Arab, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice.
Mrs. Ellenburg was born on August 30, 1931 in Marshall County. She was a 1949 graduate of Arab High School. Mrs. Ellenburg retired from Arab Water Works where she served as an office manager. She enjoyed attending yard sales, auction and going out to eat in her spare time.
She was a member of Union Hill First Congregational Methodist Church.
Mrs. Ellenburg is survived by her son, Danny G. Ellenburg (ShaRee); grandchildren, Brady Matthew Ellenburg, Jacob Daniel Ellenburg. Preceded in death by her husband, Lurlie Gene Ellenburg; brother, Sherrill Hyatt.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Union Hill First Congregational Methodist Church with Jon Minyard & Russel Golden, officiating. Burial will be in Gilliam Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Ellenburg will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church.
