Dorothy Wilson Hutson – Obituary

Dorothy Wilson Hutson, 89, passed away Monday, September 7, 2015, at River Place Nursing Center in Amory. She was born September 6, 1926, in Itawamba County to James L. Wilson and Clemmie Pierce Wilson. Dorothy grew up in Itawamba County and married Carl Hutson on September 5, 1943. They were married for 72 years. She and Carl moved to Zion, Illinois, in 1950. She was a retiree of Burgess, Anderson, & Tate Office and Printing Company. She and Carl became members of Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Zion in 1966 where the Rev. Clinton Bell was their pastor. Dorothy retired in 1992, and she and Carl moved back to Mississippi and made Liberty Grove Baptist Church their home church. Dorothy enjoyed her flowers and “manicured” lawn, and she also loved feeding and watching different varieties of birds.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Bobby Fowler and Bro. Jackie Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Grove Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Carl Hutson; several nieces, nephews, family, friends, and her special caregivers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Bealier Middleton, Neppie Cummings, Martha Wilson, Mealie Kennedy, and Delcie Steele; and three brothers, twins Bold and Barnie Wilson, and Dow Wilson.

Pallbearers will be Noel Kennedy, Tommy Poole, Tom Jackson, John Anthony, Benjie Poole, and Wendell Hutson.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
