Dorothy Smith Davidson Dr. Dorothy Smith Davidson, 86, of Huntsville passed away peacefully May 11, 2021. Dr. Davidson was the Executive Chair of the Davidson Technologies, Inc. Board of Directors, a pioneer in the field of Engineering and a champion of many philanthropic endeavors.

For more than 25 years, Dr. Davidson established herself as a community leader, actively donating her time and resources in support of dozens of organizations and efforts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Davidson, parents, Amzie B. and Mary E. Smith, brother, Amzie B. Smith, Jr., and sister, Joan F. Abernathy (Neil). She is survived by her brother, Herman Smith; granddaughter, Wendy Holderfield, three great granddaughters; nieces, Kim Palmer, Tammy Cason and Lisa Binns (James); three great nephews; two great nieces, two great-great nieces and many friends who loved her.

A private funeral service will be held. A community celebration of life will be announced soon.
