Dorothy Ray Henley, born November 16, 1928, passed away Thursday, November 8th at Arab Assisted Living, one week shy of her 90th birthday. She was married to John Burwell Henley for 69 ½ years and was a long time member of Mt. Calvary Baptist in Albertville. She served her family faithfully and was a proud and successful “Avon Lady” for many years.
She is survived by her husband, John Burwell; sons John (Gena) of Auburn Al, Aubrey (Joan) of Rineyville Ky and Tim (Felicia) of Guntersville Al; Daughters, Judy Buchanan of Albertville, Joan (Lester) Hughes and Sarah (Bill) Ostermiller both of Guntersville and Kim (Dave) Hudson of Arab; 24 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren; a sister; Joan Brown and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by parents; Lora Shirley and Arthur Ray; Brothers Birt and James Ray; and granddaughters Bethany Grace Hudson and Kristie Franks Chandler.
