Dorothy R. Smith, 90, of Halls, Tennessee, passed away at Jackson General Hospital on August 27, 2026 after a short illness. Visitation will begin at 12 PM Monday at Garner Funeral Home in Ripley with funeral services to follow at 1 PM. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. She was born in Decatur County, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne A. Smith; her parents Waverly and Pearlie Kelly Lindsey; sisters Louise Garner, Susie Cotner, Cathy Jean Tolcher, Mary Armstrong; brothers Phillip Lindsey and Charles Lindsey; granddaughter Lori Tucker; great grandson Joseph Tucker and son-in-law, Joseph. She is survived by her daughter, Anita S. Tucker of Munford; sister, Linda S. Clements of Newbern; three grandchildren, Kenneth W. Tucker, Katelin E. Lowery (Daniel), Hanna D. Booker; 7 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends.
