Mrs. Dorothy Nell Lawrence, age 86, of Union Grove the Morgan County area, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at her residence.
Mrs. Lawrence was born on March 10, 1933 in Morgan County to Fred Culbreath and Myrtle M. Brooks Culbreath. Mrs. Lawrence loved to cook, tend to her flowers and garden. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
She was a member of Brindlee Mtn. Baptist Church.
Mrs. Lawrence is survived by her husband of 69 years, Donald Gene Lawrence; son, Donnie Wayne Lawrence; daughter, Sylvia Lawrence Short; predeceased daughter, Deborah Lawrence Goodson; brother & sister-in-law, Coy Culbreath & Elsie; sisters, Autice Culbreath, Brenda Brooks; grandchildren, Megan Johnson & Eric, Chris Short; great grandchildren, Alyssa Johnson, Canaan Johnson, Taylor Short, Abbie Short, Jake Short, Gracie Short. Preceded in death by her parents, Fred Culbreath and Myrtle M. Brooks Culbreath; 3 brothers & 3 sisters.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Brindlee Mtn. Chapel Funeral Home, Morgan City with Bro. Robby Boys & Bro. Brian Culbreath, officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery with Brindlee Mtn. Chapel Funeral Home, Morgan City and Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will include; Terry Hamilton, Dean Byess, Robin Kent, Eric Johnson, Jeff Campbell, Mike Prince; Honorary pallbearer, Mike Goodson.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2019 at Brindlee Mtn. Chapel Funeral Home, Morgan City.
