Funeral for Dorothy Mills Cockrell, 58, of Decatur will be Friday, March 27, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Callahan officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cockrell, who died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at River City Nursing Home, was born January 20, 1957, in Lawrence County to William Mills and Elizabeth Mills Oden. She was a member of Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Cockrell and son, Jesse McCoy.
Survivors include one son, Michael McCoy of Hillsboro; one daughter, Lisa Sharpley (Robert) of Hartselle; two grandchildren, D’Quan Sharpley and Jordan Sharpley; one brother, Billy Ray Mills of Hartselle; one sister, Carolyn Sue Haynes (Steve) of Lawrence County; and mother-in-law, Bula Cockrell of Decatur.
Pallbearers will be nephews and friends.
