Dorothy Marie Stepp, 94 of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, August 16th, 2023, at her residence. Mrs. Stepp was born on June 3rd, 1929, in Tishomingo, Mississippi, to Edgar “Ed” A. Prestage and Ila Lee Clement Prestage.
Mrs. Stepp is survived by her daughter Quinnie Thompson; grandchildren Douglas Craig Thompson (Mary Ann), Jamie Thompson, and Wendi Lovell (Derrick); great-grandchildren Safa, Ollie, Cayden, Victoria, Madison, Chase, Natalie, and Benjamin; sisters Burldeen, Barbara, and Gen; and brother Edgar.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Cecil Stepp; and son-in-law Charlie Thompson.
Funeral services for Mrs. Stepp will be Saturday, August 19th, 2023, at 4:30pm, at Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay, Alabama, with A.G. Stepp officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, August 19th, from 3:30-4:30pm at Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay, Alabama. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Craig Thompson, Cayden Thompson, Jamie Thompson, Chase Thompson, Derrick Lovell, and Ben Lovell.
Mrs. Stepp was a special lady who enjoyed cooking, baking, and traveling and was a cancer survivor of 20 years. She dearly loved her grandbabies. She was a faithful member of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church and loved her Sunday School class. But most importantly, she loved her Lord! She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
