On March 17, 1918, Dorothy Marie Golden was born in Leoma, Tennessee to John William and Henrietta Osborn Golden. On November 17, 2014 at age 96 years 8 months, she entered eternal rest. On January 23, 1937 she and Alfred Swann Justus were married. He passed away in 1974. Following Alfred’s death, she enjoyed working for Jones Home Furnishings in the Gift Shop. Marie shared her love of cooking and decorating with her family and friends. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John William and Henrietta Golden, her first husband Alfred, and her second husband, Paul Norman. In addition, her brothers, Victor Golden, Hubert Golden, Osborn Golden, and Ralph Golden, as well as her sister, Hazel Scott, preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons: Burgy Justus of Huntington, West Virginia and Phillip Justus (Janna) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Two granddaughters, Robin Kinzel and Rhonda Justus, and one great-grandson, Bryden Nixon, as well as two nephews and three nieces also survive.
Her pallbearers will be Brent and Wayne Golden, Morris Giles, Leonard Lemay, Howard Johnson, and Bobby McGuire. Honorary pallbearers will be her friends with whom she enjoyed many good times drinking coffee at McDonalds.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Neal Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Mimosa Cemetery at 3:00 PM Thursday, November 20, 2014, with David Lay officiating. In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made in her memory to First United Methodist Church.
