The funeral service for Dorothy Mae Davis, age 75 of Ashland, will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Springhill Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Heath and Rev. Andrew Luker officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Davis passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at the Lineville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a native of Talladega County but had lived in Clay County for most of her life. Mrs. Davis had worked for Wellborn Cabinet for over 10 years. She loved to quilt, sew and grow flowers, but above all else, Dorothy loved her family. She was a member of Springhill Baptist Church and had been attending New Beginnings Ministry in Chandler Springs.
Mrs. Davis is survived by three sisters: Ruby Ledlow of Texas, Evelyn Harris of Bluff Springs and Patricia Finch (Gary) of Cragford; two brothers: James Rogers (Frances) and Jackie Rogers (Vivian), both of Ashland plus a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Thurman Rogers and Beulah Mae Hamlin Rogers; her husband, Gene Davis; her sons: Cleveland and Timothy Davis; two sisters: Elizabeth Mitchell and Virgie Lee Lacey.
Pallbearers will be Colton Clifton, Stevie Harris, Josh Rogers, Gary Finch, James Martin, Michael Clifton, Devon Harris and Stevie Harris Jr.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville. Mrs. Davis will lie in state at Springhill Baptist Church for one hour prior to service time on Friday.
