Dorothy Lena Bond, 81, of Russellville, Alabama, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012, at Burns Nursing Home. Mrs. Bond was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and a member of Duncan Creek Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. She was a retired cafeteria worker at West Elementary School in Russellville. The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 5, 2012, at 3:30 p.m., at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, with burial in Knights of Pythias Cemetery. Officiating will be Wayne Boyles. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, August 4, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Survivors include daughters, Kitty Humphries and husband, Phillip, Kathy Black and husband, Larry, both of Russellville; brothers, Houston Poss and wife, Janet, Muscle Shoals, and Laney Poss and wife, Joan, Russellville; grandchildren, Jonathan Humphries and wife, Jamie, Matthew Humphries, and Shawn Black. Pallbearers will be Houston Poss, Laney Poss, Jonathan Humphries, Matthew Humphries, Shawn Black, and Chris Flemming. Honorary bearers are Phillip Humphries and Larry Black. She was preceded in death by husband, Kenneth Bond; parents, Clayton and Mary Poss.
