Dorothy Lee Parks Buchanan, 96, of Meridianville, AL, went home to her Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, June 30, 2025. She was born on December 21, 1928, in Chunky, MS, to William Lafayette Parks, Sr. and Ida Lee Jones Parks.

She is survived by her 3 loving children, Nancy Bryson and husband Charles of Starkville, MS, grandchildren Tom (and wife Ashley) and Steve (and wife Emory); James Buchanan and wife Sherri of Kosciusko, MS, grandchildren Jamie and Jacob (and wife Carlie); and David Buchanan and wife Nicole of Nashville, TN, and grandchildren Katie (and husband Luke), Michael, and Nicholas; 6 great grandchildren (Nathan, Michael, Emma, Henry, Tanner, and Lacy), and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Edwin Lacy Buchanan, parents William Lafayette and Ida Lee Jones Parks, and brothers William Lafayette Parks, Jr. and Charles Lowery Parks. She was the last of the Greatest Generation on both sides of the family and will be dearly missed.

She was a faithful servant of her Lord Jesus Christ, charter member of Lakewood United Methodist Church holding many key offices and faithful member of the choir, resident of Huntsville since 1953, and a faithful and loving housewife. She was as beautiful as the roses she tended for many years.

She graduated from Chunky, MS High School and attended the Mississippi State College for Women before marriage.

Interment will be 11:00AM Saturday morning, July 5, 2025, at Huntsville Memorial Garden, 6810 US Hwy 72 West, with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00PM at Lakewood United Methodist Church, 2614 Mastin Lake Road. Visitation will follow the Memorial Service at the Church. Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, AL is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lakewood United Methodist Church.
