Dorothy LaVerne McKissack, age 77 of Haleyville, Alabama passed away June 13, 2026. She attended the Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 17, 2026 from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville, AL. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Ronnie Melvin officiating. Burial will follow in Bear Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Derek Duncan, Nathan Duncan, Marcus McKissack, Jonah McKissack, Tim Melvin and Tyler Tidwell.
Ms. McKissack is survived by her children, Mark (Kelly) McKissack and Becky (Lance) Duncan; sister, Brenda (Ronnie) Melvin; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Otis Self and Dorothy Faye Self; son, Todd McKissack; and brother, Tim Self.
