Mrs. Dorothy L. Fairbanks, age 85 of Scottsboro, Alabama passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025. She was and honorary member of Bible Baptist Church.
Mrs. Fairbanks is survived by her daughter, Sherry Bailey (Michael); 2 sons, Aaron Fairbanks and Larry Adkins (Karen); sister, Shirley Haswell (J.C); brother, William Southeard and Bobby Southeard; Honorary children, Renee & David Swearingin; grandchildren, Lindsey Smith (Nathan), Lynn Roberts (Brian) and Dawn Jeffrey (James); great grandchildren, Brantley Roberts, Amber Stanley, Jacob Johnson, Steven Johnson, Michael Roberts, Chelsie Grayden, Katlynn Faucett, Natalie Holcomb, Colin Beddingfield and Druw Smith and 13 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Fairbanks; Parents, Ruby and Elmer Southeard; brothers and sisters, Rayford Southeard, Walter Southeard, Lela Keller, Genevia McCallister, Betty Jo Southeard, Eva Pearl Southeard and Elizabeth Southeard, and greet great granddaughter Ella McClure.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at the Scottsboro Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Wright and Bro. Frankie Osmer officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
