Dorothy Joyce Freeman Evans, age 84, died July 2, 2013. She was born in Tuscumbia, AL and lived there her entire life. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60+ years, Robert Lee Evans, Sr. (Bobby); her parents, W.E. and Ella Brown Freeman and siblings, Elizabeth R. Hammett, Virginia Marshall, Howard Freeman, Jack B. Freeman, and W.E. (Gene) Freeman, Jr. She is survived by her brother, Dr. Robert H. Freeman (Birmingham) and her children and grandchildren. Children include: Robert L. Evans, Jr. (Bob) and wife Debbie (Tuscumbia), Jeanie Evans Myers (Tuscumbia) and Jane Evans Hampton and husband, John (Birmingham). Grandchildren are Emily Hampton Davis (Shel) Birmingham, Katie Hampton (Birmingham) and Rebecca Myers (Tuscumbia). Dorothy worked at Sibley’s Dress Shop and Mitchell Drug Store for many years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Services will be held at Morrison Funeral Home at 3:30pm on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 with Bro. Darrell Pace officiating. Her family will receive visitors on hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia, AL. Pallbearers include: Billy Freeman, Sam McClure, Billy Countiss, Arlon Curtis, John Freeman, Jim Freeman and Bill Freeman.
