Dorothy Jean Snider Grimes, 79, of Decatur passed away December 18, 2025, in the arms of her daughters. She was born March 20, 1946, to John Henry Snider and Phyllis Ann Diaz Snider in Charleston SC, where her dad was stationed in the Navy.
She was a proud graduate from Decatur High in 1964, and she loved attending her high school reunions. She loved to fish, watch wheel of fortune, and knew all the answers to Jeopardy. Her family was her pride and joy. She lived a life of patience, kindness and wisdom.
She is preceded in death by her parents- John Henry Snider and Phyllis Ann Diaz Snider, her brother- William Snider, and her great granddaughter- Scottie Jo Hutchins.
She is survived by her daughters- Cindi (Chris) Gilliland and Julli ( Chris) Partain. Her grandbabies Anaston Adams, Kinley Adams, Coen Hines, Evan Gilliland, Collin Partain and Emma and Daniel Hutchins.
In Lieu of flowers, her wish was donations going to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and to always remember “I Love You Just The Way You Are”
Survivors include
Daughters – Cindi Long Gilliland (Chris), and
Julli Partain (Chris),
and Six Grandchildren – Anaston Adams, Kinley Adams, Coen Hines, Evan Gilliland, Collin Partain, and Emma Hutchins (Daniel).
