A Celebration of Life for Dorothy Jean Plaxico-Wood, 88 of Corinth is set for 2pm Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Magnolia Funeral Home- East Chapel with interment in Vanderford Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday November 18, 2025 from 12pm-2pm at Magnolia Funeral Home- East Chapel. Bro Trey Lambert will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Sky, Matt, Kevin, Mark and Heath Wood along with Tony Davis, Jeff and Clint Boren. Born April 14, 1937 to Jimmy Lee and Ruby Lee Carter Plaxico. She was received into the arms of Jesus November 14, 2025 surrounded by her family. She attended Tobes Chapel Free Pentecostal Church and Church of the Crossroads. Dorothy’s favorite pastimes included gardening, collecting Coke memorabilia, decorating for the holidays, spending time with her grandchildren and cooking for her family. She met the love of her life at a young age, Garvin “Bud” Wood, they enjoyed 63 years of love and companionship until his death in 2014.
Those left to honor Dorothy’s memory include her sons, Randy (Judy), Tim (Ramona) and Alan (Lisa) Wood; daughters, Sandy Boren (Russell) and Donna Davis; 14 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bud Wood; son, Rodney Wood; son-in-law, Danny Davis; a great granddaughter, Ashley Sawyer and her parents.
