Mrs. Dorothy Jean Hill, of Florence, known affectionately as “Dot”, passed away at her home Tuesday, July 30, 2013. She was 79.
The visitation will be at Elkins Funeral Home Friday beginning at 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Ellis Coats will officiate. Burial will follow at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hill had been a salesperson at Rogers Department Store and had also worked at Little Angel Nursery School. She was a member of the Petersville Church of Christ and was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
She is survived by a daughter Fredda Hays and husband Jeff of Florence; sons Greg Hill and wife Debbie, and Darren Hill and wife Kim, all of Florence; grandchildren Jon, Sunny and husband Tommy, Shannon, Jennifer and husband Brandon, Scott and Jackson; great-grandchildren Carley, Lillie and Bailey; sister Carolyn Sue McGee of Florence.
Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband Fred C. Hill, and a sister Mary Anne Bacon.
Pallbearers will be Shannon Hill, Scott Hays, Tommy Bond, Jimmy McGee, Mike Howard, Dickie Howard and Jackson Hill.
