Dorothy Jean Edwards Berryhill, age 81 of Cowan, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A native of Franklin County, she was born on October 16, 1939 to the late Ollie and Gertrude (Robinson) Edwards. A dedicated homemaker, she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her beloved family. Dorothy’s sweet, loving nature was evident in how she always was taking care of others. She was a devoted member of Cowan Nazarene Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Horton Berryhill; and siblings, Carlie Edwards, Thomas Junior Edwards, and Nina Hill. Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Melinda (Ricky) Walls of Decherd, and Randall Berryhill of Cowan; grandchildren, Kelley (Barry) Powers of Decherd, and Ricky Adam Walls of Decherd; great-grandchildren, Lexus and Christian Powers of Decherd, Abigail Walls of New York, Maddie Walls of Chicago, and Willa Walls of Decherd; sisters, Velma Shockley of Winchester, Mildred Hazelwood of Winchester, and Retha Curtis of Tullahoma; and brother, Ralph (Jane) Edwards of Cowan. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 12, 2021 in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Welch officiating. Interment will follow at Cowan Montgomery Cemetery.
