Dorothy Irene “Dot” Hamilton age 93 died Sunday January 26th, 2014 at her home after an extended illness.
Funeral service will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home with visitation from 12 – 2p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Greg Hamilton, Brian Hamilton, Dale Hamilton, Richie Hamilton, Tracey Hamilton, Andrew Watson, Elijah Watson, Donovan Hamilton and honorary, Randy Andrew.
She was a member of Oliver Church of Christ and retired from Decatur Utilites.
Ms. Hamilton was born July 6th, 1920 in Rogersville. Her parents were Emmett Hamilton and Rose Barbee. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, James R. Hamilton, Charles Hamilton and Morris Hamilton and sisters, Mary Harrison and Martha Comerci. She is survived by her sisters, Ruth Davis and Frances Andrew; brother, John Hamilton; sisters-in-law, Lila Hamilton, Annie Ruth Hamilton and Bonnie Hamilton; many loving nieces, nephews that she adored. Bobbie Jean Johnson was her caregiver and dear friend that seemed like a member of the family.
