Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Dorothy Honeycutt will be 1pm Monday March 31,2025 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12pm until service time at the funeral home.
Dorothy Sue Honeycutt passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, in Portage, Indiana. She was born on August 9, 1933, in Corinth, Mississippi, to Everett and Bertha (Wilbanks) Cook. Some of Dorothy’s favorite things were pitching for her women’s softball team, watching her granddaughters play softball, playing cards and spending time with her great grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Cheryle McCune; brother, Jim (Ann) Cook; sister, Darlene (John) McClure; granddaughters, Holly Smith, Jamie (E.J.) Mastandrea, Nicole (Chuck) Maxwell; grandson, Daniel (Alyssa) McCune; 6 great-grandchildren; special niece, Gail Talley and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Everett Cook; mother, Bertha Cook; husband, William Honeycutt; son, Charles “Buddy” Honeycutt; brothers, Billy Cook and David Cook; sisters, Brenda Talley and Eydie Copenhauer; son-in-law, Thomas McCune and daughter-in-law, Tina Honeycutt.
