Dorothy Faye Golden Mangum – Obituary

Dorothy Faye Golden Mangum, 87, of the West Point Community in Somerville, died Thursday January 25, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Mangum was born June 1, 1930 in Madison County to Walter Golden and Cornelia Guyer Golden. She was a graduate of Joe Bradley High School in Huntsville, later received an associate degree and worked on the Redstone Arsenal as a procurement clerk until her retirement. Her husband: David Mangum preceded her in death July 25, 2014. She enjoyed painting, fishing, bowling, playing bingo and watching Alabama Football. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was a member of West Point Baptist Church.
Mrs. Mangum is survived by her children and in-laws: David A. Mangum and Cheryl and Joan M. Pullen and Keith; her grandchildren: Tara Grimes and Josh, Caleb Mangum and Chelsea, Kacie Kritner and Isaac, Anna Mangum and Samuel Mangum and great grandchildren: Olivia Grimes and Allison Grimes. She was preceded in death by her husband: David W. Mangum; her brothers: Odis “Tidy” Golden and Clarence “Top” Golden and her sisters: Ruby Cook and Freddie Ellenburg.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 27, 2018 at West Point Baptist Church with Brothers: Harry Saint and Mike Shaneyfelt, officiating. She will lie in repose one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in West Point Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Josh Grimes, Isaac Kritner, Caleb Mangum, Samuel Mangum, Jeff Henderson and Dan Elkins.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday January 26, 2018 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel.
